Tying steps
- Mount 2XL hook. Start thread at mid-shank.
- Tie in a tan foam strip or dub a segmented tan body covering 2/3 of shank.
- Dub a slight thorax hump behind the eye.
- Tie in two pale poly or CDC wings angled back 45 degrees, one on each side.
- Tie in 3 pairs of knotted tan rubber legs — cranefly legs are very long; leave extra length.
- Build a neat head, whip finish, head cement.
