- Head: Natural deer hair (spun, sculpin-trimmed) or natural brown conehead
Tying steps
- Mount hook. Lay brown thread base.
- Tie in long natural brown marabou tail plus copper Krystal Flash.
- Tie in copper wire at bend.
- Tie in brown schlappen feather; wrap forward in touching turns to 3/4.
- Rib with copper wire in 5 turns.
- Tie in mottled grouse or brown hen pectoral fins flat on each side.
- Spin natural deer hair for head; pack and trim to flat-bottom sculpin profile.
- Whip finish, head cement.
