How to tie the Quill Gordon (Spinner)

Materials

• Hook: Tiemco TMC 100, #12-14
• Thread: Uni 8/0 Gray
• Tail: Blue dun hackle fibers (long split)
• Body: Gray or rusty dubbing
• Wing: White poly yarn (spent)
• Thorax: Gray dubbing

Tying steps

1. Mount hook. Figure-eight white poly spent wings at mid-shank.
2. Wrap to bend; tie in long blue dun split tail.
3. Dub gray body from bend to behind wings.
4. Dub gray thorax around wing bases.
5. Whip finish, head cement.
