Materials

Tying steps

  1. Mount 2XL hook. Tie in short elk hair tail stub at bend.
  2. Tie in brown saddle hackle.
  3. Dub olive-brown body to 3/4 of shank.
  4. Palmer hackle in 5 open spirals forward.
  5. Tie in olive or natural elk hair wing flat over body — Skwala adults ride low.
  6. Optional: tie in brown rubber legs on each side.
  7. Trim elk butts, build head, whip finish, head cement.
